Spotted at Horeca 2015, Chateau Isaac winery is the first in Lebanon to create Sulfate-Free wines, an initiative still not too common around the world. I was intrigued by their wax decorated bottles which I believe were worth looking into.
ISAAC Winery, owned by the Ishak family, is a winery created in the year 2000 with the first production to be sold on the market in 2010, specializes in small production homemade wine.
The vineyards valley is located in North Bekaa - Deir el Ahmar. Made and bottled in Torzaya under the care and supervision of the Ishak family, each bottle of wine is made with love.
Chateau ISAAC offers Red Wine (Sec, Demi-Sec and Sweet), White and Rosé Wine, completely natural wines created with patience without any added chemical products. The exceptional Red wine production takes a little more care to ensure the highest quality. It’s the only fully natural Red wine made without added sulfites or any additives.
RED WINE/without sulfites: Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes
ROSE WINE: Made from 100% Carménère grapes
WHITE WINE: Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc
About sulfites
- Sulfites SO2 are added in 98% of the wines.
- It is a dense and toxic product that is used as a preservative in wine making.
- It causes stomach pain and headaches.
- All wines contain sulfites. Sulfites in wine come from two sources: artificial and natural.
Wine Serving Temperatures
In very general, red wines are served at cooler room temperatures and white wines are best served chilled. When wines are served too warm they tend to taste unbalanced with an alcohol edge. When wines are served to cold the innate flavors and aromas are significantly suppressed.
- White Wines: 7-10 °C
- Red Wines: 10-18 °C
- Rosé Wines: 7-13 °C
- Sparkling Wines: 6-11 °C
- Fortified Wines: 13-20 °C
