Jean-Georges New York Loses one Michelin Star
Non-smokers friendly

When I had lunch at Jean Georges, I remember leaving unimpressed and asking myself how did this restaurant manage to have three stars. Learning from Google that they lost one this year, I remembered my last dinner; yes indeed, I was right, they do not deserve it.

Eater.com: More bad news for chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten: Jean-Georges, his flagship fine dining restaurant, lost one Michelin star in the 2018 New York City Michelin Guide, which debuted today. It’s now one of 11 restaurants in New York with two stars. The downgrade also means that San Francisco surpasses New York City as the U.S. city with the most three-Michelin-starred restaurants in the U.S. (San Francisco has seven three-starred restaurants to New York’s five.)

On my last dinner, food was good but not exceptional; I don’t remember to eat something memorable like I did at Eleven Madison Park. Waiters were looking at my phone, eating me with their eyes and service was average.

Anyway, that’s just a statement, sharing with you my feeling about restaurants and food which rarely miss. Read our my last review.

Last time I concluded: “Let's recap. We chose to have lunch at a three stars, paid $250/person but honestly I was not impressed. After my last dinner at "Laserre" in Paris, an experience I found to be memorable, I'm not sure how Jean-Georges gets a three stars. Service is not up to standard, finesse missing in every move, cutlery set un-homogeneously, good food but honestly not outstanding and surely not worth the $250 price tag.”
