Johnnie Walker House’s newest outpost has opened in Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport in collaboration with the Diageo Global Travel, Johnnie Walker’s distributor, and Schiphol Airport Retail. The space was designed to inspire travelers by bringing to life the history and pioneering spirit of the Johnnie Walker brand. The Johnnie Walker House concept allows guests to explore the whisky-maker’s craftsmanship and quality, achieved through a sensory journey of touch, taste and smell.

Part gallery, part museum, the Johnnie Walker House Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is two stories and incorporates copper, water, barley, peat and oak into its interior design.

A key feature is its “whisky constellation wall” dedicated to Johnnie Walker’s art of blending, providing a comprehensive index for the brand’s Single Malt Scotch Whiskies. A “flavor wall” is also included to showcase the art and science involved with the whisky blending process.

Travelers will have the opportunity to purchase select tasting sessions, which take place in the luxury bar and lounge of the first floor. In addition to tasting, guests can purchase, for the first time in Europe, Johnnie Walker House Exclusive Collections, including John Walker & Sons Master Blenders Collection, Johnnie Walker Epic Dates Collection and the Johnnie Walker House Zodiac Collection.

To celebrate the opening, Johnnie Walker has commissioned the limited-edition Johnnie Walker House Blue Label Casks Edition — Schiphol Limited-Edition. Available exclusively to Johnnie Walker House visitors, the bottle features an illustration by local artist Merjin Hos. The illustration features Johnnie Walker’s “Striding Man” traveling from Scotland to Schiphol in a wooden clog surrounded by tulips, windmills and bicycles.
