Aberdeen Airport, British Airways Business Lounge

Aberdeen is Scotland's third most populous city, one of Scotland's 32 local government council areas and the United Kingdom's 37th most populous built-up area, with an official population estimate of 220,420. A small airport it is, serving the area with small planes and lots of helicopters.

Inside this small airport is British Airways' lounge. A square room hosting a bar, one single TV and lots of individual seating. Handover your boarding pass and move towards the seating area. Grey sofas fill in the space each seperated from the other by a small table and a light. Each of those seats has a European electrical plug, an English one as well as a USB hub. A choice of magazines is displayed on the wall while a calm music plays in the background.

The buffet has the British Airways signature. You can find the same biscuits I loved in London, the same dried bananas, a coffee machine, soft drinks, chips and four bowls of yogurt. With that you can enjoy a hot porridge with honey or sugar. Three choices of cereals and some packed biscuits without forgetting all the alcoholic bottles awaiting to be consumed.

The lounge is taken care of by two ladies from a certain age cleaning it and preparing its food like if it was their home. One of them even approached me to explain about her proudly prepared porridge.

A detail I liked is the music, the calm and the many colorful pillows available on all sofas for a more relaxed waiting time.

Visiting Aberdeen, now you know what to expect.
