Abou Jihad; is it the food, the vibes or the passion behind every plate? Is it my love for their food, the simplicity or the “Nafass”? I enjoy this restaurant and what they offer and have been visiting for the last couple of years every time I crave a delicious plate of “Daran.”

Abou Jihad is where Lebanese food is prepared with love, where Lebanese music plays in the background, where service is professional, and attention to details makes one want to stay for long hours.

A glass of Arak, and let the eating begin! Hummus, hummus with meat, tabbouleh, stuffed grapevine leaves, sambousik, cheese rolls, fries and most importantly the “Daran.”

I have been here before, and every time I enjoy Abou Jihad's food in Jal el Dib. A must try! I love this restaurant. I appreciate its cleanliness, how tables are set, the placemats, the table napkins, the bread baskets, the distinct smoking and non-smoking areas, the arabesque decor, the purple colors and the relaxing chairs.

I liked it how the meat on top of the hummus is diced and grilled to crunch like beef jerky. Sambousik are flaky and loaded with minced meat. I like the fries, hand cut with a homemade taste. I even tasted the fawaregh, perfectly cooked with rice tender and juicy. I loved it!

Wait! You can't leave without trying their "Daran," cubes of the most tender meat ever, embraced with pure goat fat (liyyeh). It's all about that meat that melts under your teeth like butter, so juicy and so rich in taste. Close your eyes and prepare yourself to scream! The fat, the intensity of flavor, the richness in taste... it feels like butter, it melts under the palate. Oh my goodness!

Lunch needed with a delicious Mouhalabiyyah and a mouthwatering meghle; next time, I’m coming back for desserts. Don’t miss the Halawa bites, they are addictive.

Bravo! What else can be said: It's clean, professional and the taste is mastered to perfection. It's where I come to enjoy a sumptuous Lebanese lunch in a positive atmosphere. It is part of my Top10 Lebanese restaurants for sure!
