Air France Joins Forces with Korean Chef Youn-Young Kim

Since 1st February 2016, Korean customers have been able to post all their travel-related queries (reservation, seat selection, payable options, additional baggage, etc.) in their language to Air France via the Company's new account on Kakao Talk, Korea's highly popular Original dishes from the Far East

As from April 2016, on all flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Seoul, Air France passengers can enjoy the culinary delights of South Korean chef Youn-Young Kim. For the first time, a chef from Asia is in charge of the menus in the Air France Business class cabin.

As soon as they board, Business passengers can enjoy the best of South Korean fine dining. The chef Youn-Young Kim offers fresh, varied and balanced dishes, subtle mixtures of flavours from the East and West. Every two months customers can discover one of four original dishes.

  • WOONSAN MAEWOON DAK BOKKEUM: A spicy chicken dish, sautéed with onions and carrots seasoned with chili, garlic and soy sauce.
  • WOONSAN BULGOGI: A traditional Korean dish with thinly sliced beef, marinated for several hours in a seasoning (soy sauce, garlic, pepper, onion and sesame oil) and grilled on charcoal.
  • WOONSAN GALBIJIM: Beef ribs braised and simmered with daikon radish and mushrooms in a marinade with soy sauce, garlic, onions, ginger, as well as sugar and pepper.
  • WOONSAN BIBIMBAP: A balanced Korean dish, with various vegetables sautéed and topped with a bowl of hot white rice. Served with Gochujang (Korean pepper).

Youn-Young Kim, a chef with a difference

A native of South Korea, Youn-Young Kim was raised in a family passionate about gastronomy.

The originality of the chef’s dishes resides in the way she learnt. Having studied gastronomy in Denmark, her career has been studded with trips around the world; experiences that have shaped her skills, and taught her how to mix flavours.

Her restaurant Woonsan in Seoul is a highly recognized establishment, frequented by many famous personalities.
