In the region of Rashaya el Wadi, is a restaurant, a Lebanese restaurant called Mashhour. Mashhour, or "famous" in English, comes from the owner's name and isn't a case of pretentious management.

On the Dahr el Ahmar main road, in this village close to Rashaya el Wadi city center, a restaurant appears on the right side. Fully booked that Sunday, we had to leave and come back after five to find a table.

The focal point is a large spar made of metal under a white ceiling. The owner welcomes you into his little paradise, making sure you are taken care of immediately.

On the menu is the conventional selection of Lebanese mezze of which we ordered hummus, fattouch, stuffed grapevine leaves, French fries, Lebanese bites and a selection of meat.

The food is delicious! The fried cheese rolls are exceptional and oil-free, the sambousik delicious and kebbe extremely crispy with a tender and flavorful heart. The kebbe is really good. The sambousik, so tender and so moist with a thin envelope. Well-fried potatoes with a golden color. I loved the stuffed grapevine leaves, the well cooked envelope and tender rice, a light lemony flavor making them close to perfect. Chicken liver are wow. Lightly sweet and super tender, served in a clay pot. Bravo, really bravo, I was not expecting to eat such good food.

Raw meat, grilled skewers, fattouch... Everything seems to be mastered to make customers happy. I was satisfied.

There's no need to go into more details, this restaurant is surely recommended. I loved the food so much that I'll recommend it to all my friends.

Apples, peaches, pineapple, watermelon, grapes, pears and figs with an ice cream selection and some oriental sweets; desserts are always offered.

We finished lunch, enjoyed some fruit and took the road back to Beirut.
