This is an open letter to the chef, a person I don’t know yet and don’t even know the name. I was here for the last week, had breakfast, experienced dinner, enjoyed lunch and appreciated every bite I had: it’s not the food taste but something different...
Dear chef,
After spending three consecutive days at the hotel, I couldn’t but send you this message. You made me understand my passion for food even more... with a personal portfolio of thousands of restaurants visited since 2012, I like to remind myself from time to time what makes me enjoy a meal: is it the taste, the quality, the ingredients, the presentation or something beyond that... I’ve been visiting your hotel restaurants for years, food that was always good but never exceptional. Food that was tasty but always lacked something... that extra mile.
Dearest chef, your food is unique and different, it irradiates passion, life, action, fusion, enjoyment, and knowhow. “I found that extra mile in your plates.” Your food is good, but it has something different than simple taste. The muffins are different from any I’ve had before, the chicken is so juicy and so intensely flavorful like the one my grandma used to do, the salmon has a unique texture and subtle saltiness I enjoyed, and the eggs Benedict have a kick of acidity I liked. The bread also has a touch of change.
Chef, I don’t know you yet, and I don’t know if you have anything to do with that change: I’m not sure if you added your touch to the bread or to the desserts; all I know is that food is different, and I can feel it in every bite. Continue doing what you do, hoping to spend a day in your kitchens soon.
