Home of the oval Pizza and fresh sandwiches, Bar Tartine - open in ABC Achrafieh - is my address every time I feel like enjoying a pleasant meal. With several glowing reviews already, Bar Tartine is guaranteed satisfaction for a tasty pizza and a fresh sandwich.
I love the new menu, a long and fully loaded page mainly dedicated to breakfast, the fridge of desserts, the starters they call "count me in", all the fresh salads, the Tartine scene of sandwiches, artisan pizzas, soup time and the main act. Desserts are offered on the first page to remind you that Tartine Bakery is a pastry shop first and foremost.
Lunch starts with a basket of fresh bread and a cup of olive oil.
The ricotta croquettes are out of this world! They look like mozzarella rolls at first until they crunch under your teeth and melt like butter around your palate. A load of cheese infused with thyme, a crunchy envelop that’s not oily, a rich heart loaded with flavors, a mix of very pleasant textures I’ll remember for a long time. Loved it even without sauce, which is unfortunately loaded with garlic; in my opinion it masks the flavors of the dish rather than enhancing them.
Oh my God... this pizza made me shiver! An oval shaped pizza made of a very soft dough covered with melted ricotta cheese; loaded with flavor and offering a kick of acidity and smokiness. Juicy and smooth, the cheese doesn’t soak the crust. A thin crust with a very thin crispy layer, a spongy fluffy heart and crunchy end note. Along with the cheese, the pizza is covered win spicy slices of sausage, fresh thyme, fresh mushrooms, black olives and cherry tomatoes.
What a sandwich! Oh My Goodness! Cheese covered super soft and fluffy bread loaded with premium meat and a cocktail of grilled vegetables. Melted cheese, mayo pesto sauce, oil and juiciness, flavors and life! This sandwich is full of life and flavor. A love story I didn’t expect to discover, what a sandwich! The bread and filling are both phenomenal!

The tarts are getting better... very ripe bananas, crème pâtissière like the Bahamas of Pate a Choux and a crunchy chocolate dough covered by a soft meringue cream. Loved this! The strawberry tart is as good, juicy strawberries and a non-sweet crème pâtissière with a crunchy dough. Loved both when I used to find them sweet and very commercial.
An enjoyable lunch I'll repeat!
