It was 1am when we arrived to the hotel, it took 40 minutes at 120 kph from the airport. A large resort which seemed nice in the dark. I was so excited to spend the next 48 hours here, in a place known to have a beautiful sea and interesting services.
It is large indeed, so after checking in at the reception I started walking to the room. The pool view rooms are in the same building, a couple of minutes were enough, as for the sea view rooms, expect a longer walk to the building down on the waterfront.
And the door opened on my deluxe room. A spacious room, a very big bathroom and a balcony. A warm and luxurious setup with a double king sized bed -if I may describe it that way- and the amenities you need for a pleasant stay.
I stated looking into the details:
- The TV has hundreds of digital channels.
- More than 4 water bottles are offered, of which two await in the fridge.
- The Internet is complementary and fast.
- The pillows are large and very relaxing.
- A mini bar awaits with soft drinks and two beers.
- The bathroom is full of the usual things you might need.
- An international adapter makes it easier to connect your electronics.
I slept like a baby, woke up at 9, a quick shower and down to breakfast. It was my first encounter with the resort in the beautiful sunny weather of this 32-degree day.
I surely wasn't expecting a breakfast that generous and organized. Hundreds of choices, dozens of stations in a restaurant where aromas open your appetite. With all the tables occupied and busy, the restaurant maintained its cleanliness and standard.
Since I didn't have the chance to tour around much, arriving late at night and leaving in the early morning, for me the hotel was great, other than the single person at a reception handling hundreds of rooms, a local staff that's not smiley and a lack of attention for a five star place. Spending time with my friends -that's 7 rooms booked at the hotel for the week- I heard about the messy details.
My friends tell me how many times they called the reception with no success, how many times the room service came to the room early in the morning while they were sleeping, or the beach, where finding a towel is close to impossible....
I went to the beach, spent the day in the lovely waters, found a spot to lay down, got a towel and enjoyed this hotel. A bit overpriced maybe, but nothing left me feeling deceived. A good breakfast, a clean and enjoyable room and bathroom in a relaxing hotel. I think it's a good choice for a family get together.
