Boucherie is a traditional French Brasserie an exact copy of the ones up in Montmartre transported into the fast business city of New York. Stopping for a drink, a slice of charcuterie or a delicious French meal, Boucherie opens every day as of 11 am. A late lunch, I was transported to Paris and back, enjoying soothing tunes, taken care by a gentle waiter and sipping a glass of red wine...

On a beautiful windy day and while New York is being covered with a white robe, I stopped for a moment of relaxation, seated by the window and watching this amazing city of dreams.

Mosaic for the floor, a high ceiling, a charcuterie corner and a long bar; several seating spaces, small wooden tables and old-style wooden chairs; a typical French Brasserie! On the table, a complete set of cutlery, a plate for bread and butter, glasses for wine... a nice and classy setup. Lunch starts with a basket of bread and butter; amazing homemade bread that smells so good and feels so fresh.

Have a sandwich, a gourmet sandwich, the Jambon, figs and fritter is exceptionally tasty. I never imagined a sandwich made with a light and crunchy baguette, filled with intensely flavorful ham, an enjoyable sweetness the figs add followed by the acidity of the gruyere cheese. Gourmet and upscale, that’s not your usual sandwich. With that comes a portion of giant green olives.

And then came the serious stuff:

  • Ravioli, giant ravioli with truffle and mushroom bathing in a white cream sauce. Cooked aldente, firm and adequately hard, the ravioli are stuffed with cheese and embraced with butter. Ravioli with Italian influences cooked the French fine dining style.

  • The Steak Frites is indeed phenomenal the way it’s described on social media. A thick steak cooked medium that is not chewy but tender and covered with pepper bits. Four peppercorn yellow sauce accompanies this majestic piece of beef alongside super crunchy battered fries. The fine-dining experience in a casual Brasserie ambiance. Loved the sauce taste and kick of spiciness, the fries perfect taste and crunch and juiciness of the meat.

Soothing jazz music, a warm ambiance, great food, a glass of red wine while a white robe covers New York! The best combination one could dream of.

Loved the wine, adored the ambiance and enjoyed every second of my experience; food at Boucherie is a journey to Paris and back, a clear French knowhow prepared with love.
