In 2015, I wrote about Soumaya, founder of Bread Basket Square, a healthy wheat-free bakery... Today, BBS starts a new challenge, a new journey, changing the concept's name from Bread Basket to Taqa, inspired by their famous "Taqa Bar".
I wrote back then: Bread Basket is the baby of Soumaya Merhi, a passionate Lebanese entrepreneur who came back from Canada with the dream of making a difference in this country. Soumaya's dream is now a reality, a bread company that's honest, hard working... A wholesome bakery using the finest, clean ingredients, including homemade flour, oats, rye and spelt as well as Lebanese spices; let's call it A Lebanese Bakery with a Twist.
Taqa is a wheat-free bakery providing natural baked goods made from GMO free grains. We work with oat, rye, and spelt flour.
Taqa is finally open in Beirut on Rue Pasteur. It’s a space for Taqa clients and customers to have a delicious cup of coffee and feel the pulse of the company: a Lebanese-based specialized confectionery factory bringing health closer to your lifestyle with top of the line ingredients and quality.
