What I would remember for the Fauchon experience are the service and greeting, then comes the food. I’ve enjoyed the hotel, lunch yesterday at the Grand Cafe and now having breakfast at 9 am. Again... the service! Amazing service.
Breakfast at The Grand Cafe Fauchon located by the hotel elevators is a guarantee of happiness and joy for a great morning ahead. You are greeted like a king, pampered, welcomed and served to the perfection of a French breakfast. Eggs, croissants, cakes, fruits, and desserts.
Served at the Grand Cafe, the buffet display is handled by the staff getting you whatever is needed from it. On the buffet: salmon, cold cuts and cheeses, croissants and viennoiseries, fruits display, jams, hazelnut spread, and honey.
Excellent quality food from start to end. Great bread, excellent eggs and outstanding waffles. I loved how the egg is poached, served on a thin bread and topped with diced smoked salmon. Scrambled with ham and cheese, the eggs are one of the best I’ve had.
Believe me, I’ve had hundreds of waffles and pain perdu all around the world but these are different! Presented on a very hot plate, two pieces of fresh toast decorated with caramel. Purity in taste, simplicity, finesse and class. A bit of butter, a bit of milk, a decoration of caramel and that’s it. Usually, pain perdu is loaded with fat and sweetness but this one is different. The waffle is even classier and lighter. Filled with air bubbles, the waffles caresses your tongue, ignite your buds and melt like a butter biscuit. A premiere for me!
Bravo: I left amazed and enchanted.
