Thirty meters from the castle's entrance, La Blanche Hermine is a crêperie, a restaurant and a grill all at the same time. A bistro du coin, the place is cozy and calm proposing a selection of Sarasin flour crepes, sweet crepes, meat, starters, omelets, and desserts.

I was craving a real French crepe, so here I was ordering four at a time to have a general idea of the food quality and taste.

The food experience:

  • La Ty-Glaz: eggs, Emmental cheese, tuna, spinach, and nutmeg.
  • La St-Jean: scallops, fresh lemon cream, and a fondue of leeks.
  • L'Aveyronnaise: Roquefort, Emmental, raw ham, tomatoes nuts, and a green salad.
  • Homemade Salted Caramel Crepe.

A chewy dough, a little or no filling, cold ingredients... this is not what I expected. The sunny side up egg on the Ty-Glaz is cold as well as the cheese inside it. Spinach is moist and hot. The Aveyronnaise is more of a ragout of vegetables on a thin, chewy dough that's not toasted. Ham and cheese have a triangular shape but nothing to write home about. Salted caramel laid on a crepe, nothing exceptional or worth mentioning. Food is below average.

For a local restaurant, I honestly didn't understand why staff wears radio talkie-walkies to communicate. Expected more happiness and welcoming... and surely food that's produced with love hosting more flavors, more life, more passion and some meaning.

Not recommended and not worth trying.
