Recommended by the Michelin guide, Délice La Brasserie, located at the Sofitel Munich, is where I chose to have dinner tonight. Drench perfection in the heart of Munich; La Brasserie is much more than a French Brasserie, a gourmet restaurant serving a selection of healthy and classy dishes created by master chefs. With soothing music playing in the background, we sat to have dinner.
Under a high ceiling covered with mirrors, the room looks gigantic. Enter into a dimmed space decorated with candles and wine bottles, arrive at the bar, choose a table, and enjoy your time. I like how light comes down on the tables, the dark floor, the leather sofas, and big windows.
Vegetarian menu, four starters, three soups and salads, six plat de resistance, four meat plates, sides, and desserts. A knife and spoon, two forks and a bread plate, cutlery, and table setup are much more than you expect at a Brasserie.
Served by a very professional and smiley waiter, the night was going to be promisingly pleasant. I’ve had good experiences at this hotel until now. He knows the menu by heart, all ingredients and is ready to answer any of your questions. Dinner starts with fresh bread, sea salt, butter, and a special French spread made of estragon and orange.
Amuse bouche, a watery cheese and chewy pretzel combining a strong acidic taste with rich aromas and a fresh liquid that exploded under the palate. Interesting start at a Brasserie.
The hazelnut risotto with shaved black truffles is incredibly delicious! Excellent risotto cooked al dente, topped with thinly sliced black truffles and mixed with crunchy hazelnut. Risotto and melted cheese give an acidic few and strong flavor. Excellent indeed. My kids have the codfish fingers, and fries, my father in law had the special Delice salad and told me it’s one of the best salads he ever had. I enjoyed nibbling from my kid's plates, the fries and upscale dish fingers satisfied them and me.
It’s not your conventional pasta plate: Small-sized tagliatelle, rolled together, surrounded by mushrooms, shredded cheese, and chanterelles mushrooms, which I’m finding in all restaurants menus this week. Salt, pepper, zesty lemons and acidity, the flavors are strong and enjoyable. My wife tells me that her meat is top! I’ve tried it and can’t agree more; super tender like butter.
Good food, good mood, professional staff, and pleasant vibes. Bravo for handling the restaurant and serving a memorable experience to your guests.
