From the four corners of the globe, comes a diverse cuisine made to share. DIVVY’s of The Village Dbayeh opens for lunch and dinner, welcoming you in a relaxed and fresh ambiance. I love DIVVY’s simple decor, the fans decorating the ceiling, light wood, concrete floor, open terrace, and signature bear. Today, I’m having lunch with my kids.
On the menu: World appetizers, fresh salads, pizzas and pasta, mains to explore, breads and tacos, from the grill. Some items caught my attention: divvy poutine, Hawaiian salmon poke, volcanic shrimps, cranberry chicken salad, truffle linguini, grand burger, goat and thyme tart, grilled baby potatoes. There’s even a “New specials” menu proposing a quinoa salad, Texan chicken, lentil soup, schnitzel and lotus beignets.
Enjoying soothing jazz music and the beautiful spring weather, I ordered a selection of items from the menu. I like the food at divvy which I already experienced several times in Mar Mikhael and ABC Achrafieh.
My kids started with a bowl of French fries and a pepperoni pizza; I loved the fries’ freshness and lightness covered with a load of salt. A yummy pizza followed, thin crust, fluffy borders and a load of cheese decorated with a handful of pepperoni slices.
Yummy wedged potatoes poutine made with a Lebanese twist. It’s light on the stomach, contains yellow cheese and uses wedged potatoes; nothing related to the Canadian poutine and yet tasty and enjoyable. My journey continued with the dynamite shrimp, P.F.Chang’s cousin and very close in taste. I loved the balanced spiciness, soft texture, internal juiciness, and smooth crunch; bravo!
They also have poke, a simple version of Hawaiian Poke, a layer of rice -cooked al dente, diced smoked salmon, half a ripe avocado, sesame seeds and soy sauce.
Then the main dishes landed on the table: I’ve rarely had meat as tender as this one. Four pieces of meat -steak, frites- with a side of fries. It’s not the “Relais de l’entrecôte” heavy sauce but a lighter version of it. Tender, the meat is soft but beautifully textured. Flavorful, the sauce adds the taste you need.
Excellent desserts offered by the management drew a smile on our faces. Lovely desserts I will recommend to all my friends; good food, food desserts, good service, and pleasant vibes, I visit DIVVY again soon.
