I invite you to watch the video, enjoy dinner with me, and try to feel what I felt; dinner at Enoteca Pinchiorri is unmatched, a memorable experience I will never forget...
When you find a table at a “Three Stars Michelin” restaurant, your heart starts beating uncontrollably! When you ask to have a private tour of the kitchens and wine cellar, you’ll feel like your heart stopped beating! Awarded since 1993 as one of the world’s best restaurants and part of the unique 132 list of outstanding restaurants, Enoteca Pinchiorri is one of those experiences you have to try at least once in your life. Hosting the most expensive and most diverse wine collection of the world with 85,000 bottles, the restaurant is much more than a place to eat, an experience, a journey, an achievement one would add to his list of discoveries.
I was overwhelmed! Walking around, taking pictures, smiling uncontrollably, not knowing what to say or where to start. A one-of-a-kind experience, I would add on my CV! Let the fun begin...
I was welcomed at the door and taken directly to the cellar! I heard stories about their cellar but didn’t expect it to be so big, so wide, so rich and so diverse. Eighty-five thousand bottles from the seventeenth century, unique collections and bottles few or no other restaurant has; Sommelier Antonio Rosolino has been working here for the last 35 years. After that, the chefs were waiting for me, three main chefs, and their brigade professionally working in style; the chefs create art!
Amazing kitchens! Perfectly lit, bright white, clean, and divided into several sections. The dessert section caught my attention, more of a museum with sculpture and old painting: that’s a premiere for me.
You can choose the menu at 285€/person or a la carte with plates going up to 100€ each. Expect to pay for what you’re getting, at Enoteca Pinchiorri.
Details to look up for: signature special edition Riedle glasses, leather under-plate, amazing paintings, high ceiling with sides decorated in wood from the belle-epoque, gold plated map of the world, mezzanine and several rooms you can choose from; we were seated in the main dining area.
I loved the attention, the staff, the sommelier, the professionalism of everyone, the kitchen positivity and the attention to my camera; but not the head waiter: he doesn’t smile, spreads negative vibes and even approached me to stop taking pictures. Anyway, I won’t let him spoil my night.
First nibble: chips of Parmesan. First course: served on an ivory square plate, daikon, chips of hummus and cube of omelette. The ultimate finesse. Second course: codfish in a crunchy envelop of seaweed, on a bed of carrot purée, tiny little asparagus, black garlic cream on the side.
What is a Michelin Starred restaurant experience: it’s not only the food but everything that comes with it. The service, the attention, the way wine is served, the way wine bottles are treated, the way cutlery is changed, and the way waiters walk around the tables. It’s about the music, low table for your bag, lighting, decor, welcoming and every single little detail thought-of to make you smile and leave impressed. Dinner at Enoteca Pinchiorri is a journey to heaven.
Oh My God! This food is from another world!!!! Another world... one of the best creations I’ve ever had! Oh My God! That’s the feeling! Beyond imaginable, better than everything I’ve had before. Believe me, I’ve been to restaurants, but this one is different! I’ve tasted food from all the table, amberjack of my wife, foie gras of my father in low, the lobster of my mother in law and felt like screaming at every second. Every item is used with love; the best products on the market mixed to create magic!
I was overwhelmed with flavors that I couldn’t describe them one by one; a video review, a blog review and enjoying the experience at the same time, tasting all plates and chatting with the team... what a night!
Let me tell you about the focaccia: it’s like none! It’s not bread with olive oil and salt, it’s a cake; a fluffy crispy cake loaded with olive oil and sprinkled with salt. It smells different and tastes different, one unique focaccia that probably took ages to prepare. I’ve had a bite, a piece than another... it’s unmatched!
I’m no one to judge such great food; I really didn’t know what to write about. Three Stars deserved!
How to describe such masterpieces of art! This is not food; this is a gift from God. I had tears in my eyes while eating a bite from every plate; my brain couldn’t handle the emotions. The balance in every plate, the quality of ingredients, the textures, the softness of the meat, the rich taste; bravo is not enough! Three stars are not enough! This can’t be called “Food,” it’s an understatement.
Cheese followed then came dessert; a step at a time, the experience couldn’t be better. I noticed that the team at Enoteca Pinchiorri is here because they believe in the brand: they are loyal to the owner and talk very highly of him. As time passed, it was already eleven, and none of the tables left; everyone was enjoying the experience hoping time would stop. Six choices to choose from, 35€ each.
Pineapple cubes and banana, cold and refreshing pre-dessert while the important stuff gets prepared; exceptional combination worth every penny. Homemade meringues, tarte tattin, ice cream, apple compote, crunchy tuiles and beyond. You leave with a great impression in mind.
Not part of the world’s 50 best, Enoteca Pinchiorri is probably better to be added on the list. Chocolate as a goodbye note, tea or coffee and I was ready to hit the road hoping to visit again as soon as I have the chance to.
