Famous Japanese Chef Nobu Launches Dinnerware

This year marks the 400th anniversary of Arita porcelain. To mark this occasion, world renowned Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Arita Plus, a creative cooperative made up of the next generation of Arita potters, have come together to create ARITA x NOBU.

This distinctive collection of dinnerware is a combined exchange of expertise and ideas between the Arita potters and Nobu. Symbolic of the Japanese flag, the range features red circles representing the morning sun, which is a signature design to the project.

Collectively they express the project’s interpretation of “wa” - Japanese for harmony - and showcases 400 years of Arita tradition and innovation. The design also represents an effort by the potters to define the aesthetic and practices of Arita porcelain that keeps Arita porcelain relevant to the times and to the world.

The range consists of nine exclusive pieces, including design plates, sushi roll holder, sake set and a matching bowl.
