Freddy’s: The Hotdog Truck
Quick Eats

Before starting NoGarlicNoOnions I was in a nightlife project called BeirutNightLife which tried - for ten long years - to prove to the world that Lebanon is much more than what the West thinks it is. That it is instead full of life and ready to party all week. We toured the country's nightclubs and big concerts to find the most beautiful photos, which we published in my book "B.Lebanon". Before every party and every concert, Freddy's was a rendezvous.

I'm not sure if it's the nostalgia or if it's as good as I believe it is, but here is where I enjoy a good hot dog sandwich.

Years have passed and I'm back to Freddy's. A bigger truck but the same location - which was at the entrance of "Basement" a nightclub back then.

Freddy's is the hot dog stand located at the entrance of downtown Beirut next to the Kataeb head quarters. A food truck when no food trucks were yet available in Lebanon, hot dogs when they were not even the trend. Today, many have popped up around the country but Freddy's remains my favorite.

A soft bun, the hot dog, cheddar cheese, Jalapeños, ketchup, mustard and chips; is what the sandwich contains. I really love their bun, enjoy their hot dogs' quality, love how the ingredients are balanced … it feels good to have this sandwich on the sidewalk, like a souvenir of a good night, the nostalgia … and it's tasty!

Freddy's is a must try. This food truck serves from sunset to a few hours before sunrise.
