Frosty Palace, once serving Lebanon's greatest burgers closed in February of 2018. It was big, it was the best, it was the place who taught others the meaning of burgers;
My descriptions looked like this: "A delightful piece of art. In every bite you'll feel a mix of soft bun, a crunchy bacon layer, a cocktail of Swiss and cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and that taste of BBQ'ed meat (burnt effect of the meat) with delicious palatal sensations, a light thin leaf of lettuce, American sweet pickles, very thin and enjoyable tomato slice... all with a final light crunch of the lower toasted bread. Just imagine! A dream-like sensation."
And sometimes like this: The Frosty burger: An amazing tender and juicy meat stuffed between two fluffy buns lightly toasted on the side adding to that the sweet, crispy yet chewy bacon, lightly caramelized onions, and the usual greenery and tomatoes. The burger simply looks amazing to start with without talking about the taste. Indeed that's a burger one must try in Lebanon. An unsophisticated, non-fatty and oil-free burger with flavors few have managed to replicate.
Closing on a last note, we all thought it was a joke until this morning;
Frosty Palace opened in February 2012. I had the dream of creating a cozy place reminiscing the cheerfulness of a musical, and of making people smile by serving my favorite comfort foods: hamburgers and ice creams. A little while ago, a shift happened within me, and beyond the smiles, I started looking at a bigger picture. I pondered about the ripples of my business and questioned the food that I was serving and promoting. During this shift, I reminded myself that I have the power to make choices and to align my source of income with values that I cherish. The reason why I chose to close is that I have become very sensitive about the abusive exploitation of animals. Furthermore, I am now more aware about the draining effect of industrial farming and meat consumption on the natural resources of our planet. For years, I have sought pleasure in beef burgers and steaks. Today, I find happiness in a plate that has spared the life of a sentient being. Today, I see every animal-free meal as a vote for the preservation of Earth and the wellbeing of us all. It is vital to remember that cows, pigs, chickens, and other animals, matter as much as the pets that we pamper. It took me several rocky road months to reach my decision, probably the toughest one I ever had to make. But all along, I was convinced of this: wishing for a better world means I have to start with myself and be willing to make changes. Thank you so much for being a part of Frosty Palace. Together, we’ve made it wonderful! With love, Zalfa
Frosty Palace is back! this time 100% vegan, with no meat involved. I'm so excited to taste the food but most importantly meet Zalfa and understand what happened?
