Babel - Dbayeh

To start with the place is very special – they serve unique food in an exceptionally decorated space located in Dbayeh. The grandiose architecture of the restaurant cannot be missed as you drive through. The food is great, but here we’re talking about the hummos. Babel’s hummos is a creative piece of art! A smooth paste of passionate wonders mixed with lemon and olive oil carved around perfectly cooked chickpeas. Served warm, the Hummos is surely on my Top 10 list of Hummos dishes in Lebanon and, most importantly, it's garlic free so you feel each and every natural ingredient.

Al Halabi – Antelias

Located in Antelias, A Halabi is one of my favorite Lebanese restaurants in Lebanon. I love their food but here I have to talk about their hummos.Hummos at Halabi is something else! Some say it's the finest in Lebanon and I agree with that. Smooth, light, no excess of tahini and some fine, enjoyable flavors caress your taste buds as it touches your tongue. The hummus lived up to its reputation: A fluffy nuttiness that somehow balances a creamy texture and rich buttery flavor. Served warm with cooked chickpeas on top and some premium olive oil, this is a plate that will make you scream for joy.

Mazraani - Tyre

Another favorite is Mazraani in Tyre, South of Lebanon. Located just a minute walk away from the fisherman’s port, is the popular Mazraani: An authentic breakfast spot that opens from 02:30am until 11am and serves only the best Foul, Hummus (na3em) and Msabbaha (Fava beans and Chickpeas). The hummos here is different from all others. Light, smooth and with a homey feel, it makes me go all the way to Tyre to enjoy it.

Akra – Tripoli

Akra, a renowned foul and hummus place in Tripoli is a must try. Also known as ‘the cave’, this spot located in the heart of the old souk, just a few meters away from the clock is Akra. They serve a variety of delicious bites including foul, hummos madkouk, foul bi thini, hommos lahme, malizia and fatteh, everything is prepared without garlic unless you ask. Their hummos is excellent. The work and effort put into it is clear. A beautiful flavor of chickpeas is followed by an aftertaste of lemon. Yum! Another plate has the same core but covered with minced meat and fried nuts... I knew I’d eaten something great that day.

Massad – Zahle

In Zahle, when you say Foul and Hummos, Georges Massaad is the place to go. Opened since the 50’s Georges Massaad, located on Zahle highway, just a few meters after the Saraya, truly serves some of the best traditional bites. Their hummos is simply authentic, tasty and full of flavor. Adding to that the hot chickpeas that melt under your teeth like butter. The hummos is so tasty, so smooth and rich with premium ingredients and perfect seasoning.

Now it's your turn... Where's your favorite Hummos found?

Hummos! The hummos deserves a line of its own.
