Walking and discovering the beauty of this marvelous city, I stopped by a restaurant called "House of Spaghetti". It looks like a restaurant for tourists but why not, let's not judge so quickly; I was hungry for a plate of spaghetti al dente. Yes, I did judge quickly and ended up enjoying a homey lunch!
Italian music plays in the background, happy staff, and a broad menu. The place doesn't look fancy but food is good enough. I ordered everything without garlic and the waiter was happy to attend to my demand without making a big deal of it.
Enjoyable lunch:
- A full bodied Carbonara which tastes like it should, and probably a hundred times better than the one I had yesterday at Jamie's Italian Kitchen. Good bacon, a creamy egg sauce and well sized spaghetti. I would have cooked the spaghetti a little less but that was not an issue at all. The food was so good!
- Maccheroni served in a casserole dish and mixed with a cocktail of seafood in tomato sauce. A rich and generous dish, pasta cooked al dente, tasty seafood and much love.
- Pizza: a good one! Good dough, good crust, good border, fresh ingredients, a complete burrata, cherry tomatoes and roquette leaves. I loved it!
I enjoyed lunch: the homey feel of the Italian food; quality of ingredients and general ambiance.
