Very dim, very loud and smelling of dirty carpets, The Hudson Station is certainly not where I expected to be having lunch today. A few meters from my technology haven - B&H Photography - I needed a restroom stop and ended up having lunch at the corner sports bar of the area.
Attended by all the working force of the block with dozens of new buildings being built at the moment, this bar is where men come for a beer and a hefty lunch before going back to work.
A lobster roll, a burger and a pumpkin ale beer were the choices. Thick fries, soft but oily smelling; they’re good with ketchup! The lobster roll is about four mini brioche buns each with a chunk of lobster inside it with a very strong garlic spread. Not juicy at all, the bites can’t even be called lobster rolls. I even made sure not to have anything with garlic and yet, the sandwich is a garlic sandwich with a bit of lobster. A Wagu burger?! Come on! A bloody thick chunk of meat dry inside out and served inside a dry bun. Not a drop of sauce, no flavor, just meat. A burger that’s so expensive for what it is an not coming close to the $6 delicious fast food burger of Five Guys.
Dark, dim, no music, bad food... nothing makes me want to come back here ever again.
