Karnigue Nigolian, the Heart, Soul, and Essence of Onno Dies

It is with great sorrow and sadness that the Onno familly announced this week the passing of Karnigue Nigolian, the heart, soul, and essence of Onno. Onno, my coup de coeur and one of the best Armenian restaurants this country has to offer. Food at Onno was not any food but the fruit of a hard working man who put his passion and love in every single plate he used to prepare.

Onno dies

Onno was feeding its customers authentic Armenian specialties in its charming 24 seats restaurant in Burj Hammoud since the year 1990. With its fairly priced menu, Onno serves items hailing from Armenian and Lebanese mezze in a simple non sophisticated manner, using premium ingredients you would buy for your home kitchen. I've always indulged in the best of the best: An authentic Armenian cuisine prepared with love and passion by Onno (Karnigue) himself, a father, chef, and professional cook... You will be remembered.

He is survived by his loving family who we are wishing strength in this time of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with them. Karingue created one of the most unique restaurants in Beirut when he started Onno. A caring man, a loving father and a good friend, everyone will miss him.
