Le Cafe Des Delices or Sidi Chabaan is located in Sidi Bou Said, one of Tunis's little cliffs, over looks Tunis Bay and marina. A whole hill is transformed into a cafe/restaurant where tourists and locals pass by to enjoy one of the cities most beautiful views. But don't expect the best service, as it's non existent, just go an enjoy the experience of a place I would describe as the Africa's Santorini -White houses, blue windows and an outstanding view.

Authentic in its concept, simple in its design, Le Cafe Des Delices, made famous by Patrick Bruel's song is a very important stop for all tourists coming to the area. Just a couple of minutes after we sat down, hot tea was served. Sit back and enjoy the beautiful view - and you will feel ready to get on the go again.

The place is packed. Other customers came and used our table, while we were still sitting. This is how it goes all day. An amazing turnover that builds a fortune. Although a few dinars each time, but when added up it's something.

The architecture is simple, relaxing and pleasant:

Simple concrete benches organized in corners around blue wooden tables. In other spaces, long blue branches covered with the typical Tunisian Hassira and Margoum (carpets) from different Colors: blue, yellow, green and purple all organized on the brick painted floor. Every customer has the same extraordinary view especially during sunset.

It doesn't stop here as blue parasols and long palm trees add a plus to this majestic setting, with an overall white ambiance - you feel you're on a direct flight to Santorini.

The menu choices:
  • Cold Starters
  • Brik
  • Grilled Fish
  • Grilled Meat
  • Couscous
  • Chicken
  • Pizza
  • Supplements

Don't forget to order Shisha while sipping on their signature green tea that comes with pine nuts as you calmly enjoy the view - as no music is playing in the background.
