Breakfast at the Raphaël Hotel, Paris

In the heart of Paris is a fine hotel, a five star hotel oozing with class and style. One of the capital's best has been the address for people seeking a relaxing break, away from showy venues, security lines and crowds. It's my second time at the Raphaël, a place I enjoy visiting because of its cleanliness, professional staff and quality of service.

Three nights at the Raphaël; we stayed in a huge room - sixty meters - with an even bigger bathroom with a shower and a bathtub and two sinks. You'll find an entrance corridor, a large bed, work desk, two chairs and much more. It's a blend between tradition and modernity, USB plugs within old wooden cupboards, a metallic elevator from the last century and a staff that's trained to make dreams come true.

Entering Hotel Raphaël one discovers the atmosphere of a private club. Walnut paneling and generous seating areas, a wide gallery, hung with art and carpeted with Oriental rugs. Rococo describes the ambiance of the high-ceiling guest rooms, furnished with Regency, Louis XV, Louis XVI, Empire, and Directoire antiques, yet thoughtfully appointed with a satellite television, and a direct-dial telephone with voice mail and modem port.

The Raphaël is a unique Parisian hotel, that teeters on the edge of being more of a club. Wherever you are you will be made to feel at home, with attentive personnel to fulfill your every need.

Enter a long lobby after passing the concierge, three men with golden keys make sure you're attended to. Fine marble and old furniture, the hotel takes you on a journey around France's revolution. Breakfast is served in the restaurant located on the right side of the lobby.

Our room was on the third floor, room 321 - bigger than the normal rooms. I had a look at the 021 on the same floor as the lobby, which is even bigger. Both rooms are well lit, and adequately ventilated, having two windows and a door operated by an electronic key.

I remember spending a memorable time here back in 2011 and this time, the experience was even better. I enjoyed the room, the staff and tasty breakfast.

It's the little details here that make all the difference. For example the makeup table inside the bathroom, the room prepared every single night to perfection - every corner is cleaned daily - and the bed made freshly for sleeping.

I love it here and will surely come back for another experience.
