Le Sushi Bar, Beirut's popular Japanese restaurant has been serving local and international clients with fine Asian creations improved and updated on a yearly basis. I've been here several times, enjoyed each one of my experiences here and I am back again to relive the journey.
I went with my family and some friends and wanted to enjoy my time, therefore I will skip over the little tiny details of architecture and service which is still the same. In fact, Le Sushi Bar was scheduled to close for renovation years ago, but this never due to the high demand the place experiences on a daily basis.
Le Sushi Bar has a new menu since I last came. Chirashi and mixed pieces,-edamame, soups and ramens, on ice, salads, tempuras, small plates, noodles, from the kitchen, handroll -my favorite unique creations- sashimis, makis -special ura, crispy ura, ura, hoso, futo, gunkan- and temaki.
Using the finest of ingredients, your experience at Le Sushi Bar is guaranteed to be memorable.
Plates started arriving one after the other... Beautifully decorated, plates are much more than food, each bite is a journey to Japan and back. The blue crab is one of those plates that will make you scream. The crab salad is yummy... More was yet to come, each plate was better than the other... I couldn't even stop to write my notes.
For the first time, we tried the noodles which I recommend. Perfectly cooked black noodles with shrimps and scallops. Enjoyably spicy, the noodles taste and texture is a good plate but make sure to start with it and not leave it to the end after your full.
Dinner ended in style with what can be called the cherry on top - The Royal Platter. A large bowl filled with ice is beautifully decorated with chocolate fondant, cake, imported exotic fruits and a selection of ice cream, two lit ice cubes topped with Mochi balls. The chocolate peanut butter fondant is to die for. Intensely flavorful peanut butter molten chocolate cake baked a la minute.
