After a relaxing night's sleep, you wake up hungry and ready to walk the corridors of Les Manoirs de Tourgéville hotel in search of breakfast...
Grab your coat before leaving your room! Breakfast is served in the restaurant, the 1899 located opposite the reception.
Breakfast offers a generous choice of good quality food but lacks finesse in presentation. I expected more light in the room, better looking plates and more choice.
Corn flakes on one side, cheese and dried fruits on the other, an island of fruits and cheeses in need of a fridge, eggs and bacon on the hot plate table, honey and jam from the region, crêpes and pancakes and a table of fresh bread. Specialities from the area are served; fine honey, maple syrup, crunchy bread, good croissants and fresh fruits.
For a four-star hotel, this is a good breakfast; but when compared to the overall hotel with its rooms that feel more five-star, you feel that something is missing. You notice that waiters don't greet you professionally, they don't wear uniforms and that the breakfast display is as simple as those served at guesthouses... This is when you are reminded that this hotel is four star after all.
However I loved the quality of the bread, the delicious honey, the premium cold cuts, the fresh cheeses and the double espresso offered after breakfast only on the second day.
