When Food&Wine magazine highlights the best chocolate cakes in America and you happen to be in the state of one of them (New York in this case) that sells it, of course I will be heading there to try out what the story is all about.
Little Cupcake Bake New York may be like a regular bakery with a variety of cakes, cupcakes, specialized coffees and cheesecakes... It's a dream come true...
The chocolate cake is to die for. Called the Brooklyn Blackout, I ate the whole slice. The cake was so moist, the chocolate flavor was so intense and the sweetness was just right, while the chocolate cream was unique!
You'll understand why it's considered the best only when you try it.
The Dreaming Princess was next on the list - an almond cake with raspberry preserve, vanilla buttercream and meringues. Juicy, the white cake was full of flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. I was happy since, to my experience to date, American cakes tend to be a bit too sweet for my taste; but not at The Little Cupcake Bakeshop.
I kept the Blueberry cheesecake for last. It's one of the best I have ever had. Creamy, condensed and cheese'ful' on a crunchy bottom... Great taste.
It's a Bakeshop you want to visit. Recommended!
