Part of the Movenpick Dead Sea resort, Luigi's is the Italian eatery serving a wide variety of delicious Italian food. The restaurant is divided into four main sections: the external open area, the closed terrace and two dining areas with a large table that can host 10 guests. A lovely reddish ambiance, walls decorated with different corners of Rome and the wooden touch in a beautiful setup give the feeling of little Italy in Jordan.  The first impression while entering is pleasant.

The menu sections:

Appetizers, Soups, Luigi's classics, Arborio rice, pastas, pizzas, desserts, grappas, special coffees

I ordered:

- Pizzaiolo Speciali: Tomato, mozzarella, Parma ham, spinach, mushrooms and eggs - Insalate della Nonna de Noci e pomodori secchi.

Lets eat:

The meal started with a coffee cup filed with a mushroom shaped bread served individually with a grilled garlic head, sun dried tomato dip an olive tapenade. Bread is heated and crunchy and the dips are tasty. The salad is very good. I liked the way the ingredients are mixed and served warm. Small pieces of greenery, crunchy croutons, cooked mushrooms, little squares of meat, sun dried tomatoes all covered with a lemon dressing: a success. Their Pizza is to die for. Fresh, unique and tasty. It deserves its name: "The Pizzaiolo Speciali" (The Pizza maker speciality).

The pluses: -  Italian music playing in the background. - Beautiful and cozy decoration. - Friendly staff but unfortunately they lack professionalism. - Head waiters are friendly and are trying their best... - A delicious exquisite Italian Pizza.

The minuses:

- The menu is old, dirty and with used papers. - I received a wine list without any pages inside and was reading while the waiter was standing next to me. He didn't even bother to go get me another one. Professionalism at its worst. - When bread was served at the beginning, I asked the waiter what type of bread is in the basket, he put his finger and touched it and answered "that's bread! I don't know what kind they are." I discovered later on that it was a brioche filled with raisins. - Waiters slide and do not walk producing unpleasant noises around the closed space. Please make them wear rubber soled shoes please! - Kids with red aprons should not take the orders and should surely not serve the plates. These important things should be handled by the head waiters. - The Pizzaiolo is very noisy and clumsy. Unfortunately I was sitting on a table next to him and had the chance to watch all his movements: he sweats a lot and over the pizza (I won't say more), he produces too much noise, figits a lot, and  he seems angry all the time as it clearly showed while he slammed the fridge door ...


I have a question:

They served me a diet coke today! But why did they say they didn't have Diet Coke yesterday night as they served me a Diet Pepsi with my dinner buffet?

Tasty food, average service, unprofessional staff... But I would surely try it again. With some minor improvements made, Luigi's can become the talk of the town.
