Other than having the best Mont Blanc ever and the sexiest hot chocolate on earth, Angelina serves tasty food in its salon de thé and restaurant at Lafayette Haussmann.
Good food but nothing is super exceptional about the experience. Plates are dirty, service is slow, bread took an eternity to be served, and meat is way too chewy. I enjoyed my club sandwich which is not bad for a three-layered bread stuffed with tender chicken. The crispy fries. The fresh smoked salmon salad. My favorite is the black truffle ravioli cooked aldente.
It’s not the French perfection of Angelina I expected, especially after visiting their iconic location Rue de Rivoli several times. Probably my expectations were high, after all, it’s a shopping center coffee place anyway.
Anyway, when you receive the Mont Blanc cake, you forget about all the rest. Angelina Paris might not be the best lunch destination, but surely the finest mint blanc one can ever taste.
