Touring some of the Greek islands by boat we stopped at the island of Hydra. A beautiful island with red tiled houses, hosting a couple of restaurants, hotels and tourist attractions. Omilos restaurant caught my attention.
Omilos is a small restaurant, a house on the cliff next to the port. Seafood, pasta and fish, two men taking care of the service and not many tourists to spoil your calm meal. In a simple setup, white decor, white plates and a table already set, we ordered lunch with a view.
Contemplating the passing ships we had a selection of starters - tempura fried shrimp with chili mayo, marinated anchovies with roe cream salad and green salad - followed by lobster pasta, pork loin, sea bass and beetroot risotto.
I loved the plates' presentation, the colors every creation hosts and the food's flavors. Simple and neat, clear and clean flavors and good quality ingredients. I enjoyed them all except the beetroot risotto - which is too sweet for a main course.
Visiting the island of Hydra, Omilos is a restaurant I recommend you try. I gave it 5 stars on Google maps.
