Ambassador of great culinary know-how, Manousheh has exported the true taste of the Lebanese “Manouche” to New York. I’ve been here several times already and still feel goosebumps every time I walk in. It feels Lebanese, it smells Lebanese and tastes as great as the food back home. Meet Naji, the chef behind every single fluffy wrap. I discovered Zaatar with avocado in New York and still crave it every time I visit.
Amazing! The manousheh is simply amazing! I love the dough, the thin tender dough toasted on the sides, covered with a zesty zaatar that’s adequately acidic. They don’t have the same tomatoes and same vegetables we have in Lebanon but still manage to reproduce the Manouche of dreams. If you live in New York, this Manouche will take you on a trip to Lebanon and back... it took me by surprise as if I never ate manakish before.
Order a Bonjus, Almaza or 961 beer; the shop has it all; you even have kabis from Machaalany.
On Bleecker Street, find Manousheh, a Lebanese eatery owned and managed by a team of Lebanese passionate people who speak Arabic, listen to Arabic music and receive in a heartwarming Lebanese way.
