Last year, the cronut was taking over New York City and now it seems another hype is taking over Los Angeles. The Churros are pretty popular in the US. These Spanish donuts that are hot, fried pastry rolled in cinnamon-sugar, are getting some big buzz in L.A. as Sylvia Yoo introduced the churro ice cream sandwiches from her pop-up pastry company, Churro Borough, in Los Angeles.
The pastry savant rolls churro dough into flat spirals, and uses them to sandwich a hefty scoop of ice cream. Four standard flavors are offered including vanilla to Mexican hot chocolate... as well as some specials.
