Set in Broumana, amidst a forest of pine and oak trees, a private vineyard, vast gardens, waterfalls, with a panoramic view of the Mediterranean sea, Mounir’s Restaurant stands for excellence in Lebanese food. But I have to make a few points.

Mounir Restaurant has been welcoming customers for over 35 years ago, some of which include esteemed clients like politicians, society's elite crowd as well as tourists who come to enjoy the beautiful setting, service and the quality Mounir has well been renowned for. An added plus, Mounir is open all year round, serving a menu of over 50 specialties. Its very suitable for couples, big groups as well as families especially while boasting a large garden area set-up especially for your little ones to play.

Mounir has it all. Specialties from  around the four corners of Lebanon: Mutabbal/Babaghanoush , HummusFalafelKibbehKibbe NayyeHalloumi cheese, LabnehShanklishMuhammaraFattoushRocketArtichoke salad, Olives, Mashawe (Grilled Meat and Chicken Skewers) to name a few. But in my opinion, Mounir is not the best Lebanese restaurant in Lebanon since the quality of food has been deteriorating year after year. The day we went, we didn't like the Kebbe Nayye neither the Labneh, nor the very salty grape vine leaves and very sour tabbouleh. Is Mounir one of those restaurants that take success for granted? If so this is always the start of a downfall for any place. But it will be a part of My Top 10 List of Lebanese Cuisines to visit, as it remains a top destination for tourists who come to enjoy a full package which includes a view, fresh ingredients, a large choice and good food. Yes, good food for tourists and newbies of Lebanese specialties, but us Lebanese demand better.

The best are the complementary fresh fruits and the choice of Lebanese sweets presented at the end of the feast.

PS: Did you know that Mounir has its own garden where Tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and all local vegetables are produced organically and served fresh every day? I do recommend this restaurant and hope that the unfortunate details will be better taken care off.
