Vietnamese and sushi, a new restaurant has opened on the internal Naccach road. A catchy first impression by the white tiles and black signs. Not like the other conventional Lebanese sushi Restaurants, Saigon feels special. Classy, high-end and different... there’s something that made me want to stop for lunch.
Open for the last two weeks, Saigon is your new sushi and Vietnamese destination. Walk into a grey-colored space decorated with colorful paintings and where sun rays come in from the front. Wood, black pillows, design lights, and metallic structures coming down from the ceiling. Lounge music enchants the space.
Launching with a temporary menu, you can choose from several choices of fresh seafood, sushi, and Vietnamese specialty. I was hungry and ready to devour half of it.
Special Saigon salad served in lettuce and made of salmon cubes, diced mangos, ripe avocados, crunchy crisps, and crab sticks. Beautifully presented, the salad is fresh, and the ingredients’ temperature is balanced — a great first impression that opens the way to a pleasant lunch.
Top quality sushi! Excellent! I loved the rice quality, the sweetness, the ingredients and quality of seafood. I enjoyed the crunchy crisps, the freshness of all the vegetables and fruits used and the oiliness of the smoked salmon. I was happy and impressed by the quality of the maki plate.
Try the shrimp Gyoza; you won’t regret the experience. Non-oily shrimp sambousik bites stuffed with tender shrimp and ready to be dipped in their sauce. I had a shrimp Springfield afterward, no sauce needed, a crunchy envelope and a fresh heart of endless flavors, moist and richly flavorful. Probably my favorite plate until now.
And when I thought that lunch was done, the main plates arrived. Pineapple rice served in a pineapple, beef noodles, chicken peanut butter, and vegetable noodles. I loved them all without even having to go into details: the tender beef, the fresh vegetables, the spiciness of the noodles and the rice which contains cashews, eggs, shrimps and pineapples. I’m not a fan of peanut butter, and I loved the chicken with peanut butter cream on top.
I’ll recommend this restaurant to my friends, and I will be coming back very soon. I have a new favorite sushi restaurant in Metn.
