Smeg500: A Super Cool Fridge Made of Car Parts

Touring around Vinfest 2014, a Fiat 500 could not be missed. Taking over the Khoury Home stand, it was not a car but a built-in fridge occupying the engine of this legendary brand: A Red Fiat 500 Cinquecento.

The SMEG500 refrigerator is made with original Fiat body parts, and assembled completely by-hand. It is available in white, red, green, blue and yellow.

Born from an exciting collaboration between Fiat 500 and SMEG, in a relationship that dates back to the 1950’s, is an exclusive project which brings together two brands synonymous with the world of vintage style, design and technological know how, in a brand new guise.

The SMEG500 was born. Launched in Paris in May 2013, the SMEG500 is something much more than ‘just a fridge’. It’s something which catches the eye, tricks it, and reinvents. An extraordinary refrigerator for the homes of avid collectors, or a fashionable lounge bar perfect for serving drinks.

I would like to have one of these in my house, maybe my clinic? This restored vintage car with a built-in fridge - a beautiful collaboration between Smeg and "Fiat 500 Design Collection.” The creators of the popular Fiat 500 furniture collection brings a super cool retro refrigerator made from an old, chopped up, Fiat 500. Open the bonnet and you´ll find a fully functional fridge with 100 liters capacity, it is controlled by a built-in Fiat 500 dashboard and even has real working headlights! Available in white, green or red.
