Food is awesome! But unfortunately, I can’t say the same about welcoming and attention. Few speak English, half the tables and reserved and empty, we waited five minutes to be seated until a waiter asked us to choose any table we like... and then what; sorry it’s reserved! Anyway, I’ve had one of the best avocado eggs Benedict in my life! A simple plate made from a whole avocado cut in half and topped with eggs Benedict. If the eggs are good, wait until you’ve tried the carrot cake!

Back to the start; SmetanaQ is a cafe on the river facing the castle. They serve simple food served in a casual ambiance managed and handled by a bunch of kids. I loved the decor and vibes from the minute I walked in — a display fridge, an open kitchen, a high ceiling and design lamps pending from above.

Food is excellent! Loaded with love, every plate makes one want to smile. The avocado is ripe enough, the eggs are perfectly poached, the hollandaise is as lemony as it should be and the side of fresh greens is marinated with style. Simple yet exceptionally delicious.

I’m a fan of waffles, and these are good! Fluffy, not crispy, the waffles are tender and covered with Nutella and thinly sliced bananas. They smell good and taste good.

Best for last, the carrot cake; a juicy carrot cake served colds, crunchy walnuts, cream cheese and flavors of shredded carrots. It’s so finger licking good! A thick layer of cake, a spread of cream cheese and another thick layer of tender cake.

Good food is served here, it should be on your list of best breakfasts to try when visiting Prague.
