Picture this: a big block of flavored ice, light in color, shaved off into a cup then covered with many toppings, sauces and add-ons. You can choose to have more than one flavor.
And then you'd hope it's going to be delicious... or at least unique in taste.
What is Shaved Cream: shaved cream is the new category in frozen desserts. It is an evolution of the Taiwanese and Korean shaved ices, which have taken over the West Coast and are now expanding quickly through the nation. Shaved cream promises to pair the fluffy texture of snow with the taste and creaminess of ice cream.
Snowdays looks nice but there is no photo to aid you to understand - at the least - what it is it all about. You begin to understand whilst your bowl of shaved cream is being prepared.
Start by choosing the flavor, then three toppings to add to it followed by a complementary sauce. A huge bowl of colorful - yet not particularly appetizing - and unfortunately flavorless ice cream, yes flavorless, is presented to you. It is soggy and lacks body.
You get some flavor form the add-ons and sauces like bananas and Oreo cookies, corn flakes and marshmallows, mochi and blueberry sauce... and many other ingredients that provide flavor to this otherwise lack lustre ice cream. In my opinion, this is a nonsense ice cream concept and testament to how not everything creative is guaranteed to work.
I'm not sure I have any more to say other than it's not worth trying!
