When you see a big car suspended in the air on the Ajaltoun highway, know that you have reached “The Burger Shop.” An American diner inspired by the eateries of Route 66 and run by a happy couple who just got married one week ago. Meet Tracy and Sam, two passionate young entrepreneurs who have left everything to cook, and it works! One of the tastiest burgers in town is sold at only LL4,000! Yep, $2,6 in today’s world.
Sam started his little eatery on Jounieh’s old souk two years ago before moving to Souk el Akel. From a Mexican eatery to a burger shop, he has opened a one-of-a-kind restaurant that reminded me of my trips to the states. Light green, pink and stainless steel; simple and soothing with positive vibes flying from all sides.
At the door, a car; it’s not like any car, it’s President Frangieh’s car, a Chrysler Imperial 72. Walk in and order a burger! Choose your burger, your sauce, your toppings and let yourself be transported.
I loved the burger size, the burger colors, flavors, aromas and meat quality. One, two or three patties stuffed between two tender buns and served with a generous load of vegetables. A tower, a huge big tower, triple-sized, with eggs and halloumi, can reach 8$.
Enough said, The Burger Shop is not like any restaurant, it’s the place of great vibes and delicious food prepared by no their than Sam himself, helped by his wife, Tracy.
