Babel; the grandiose Babel. A combination of unique architecture, good food and joyful moments.

Babel, located on the Dbayeh highway, is a restaurant you won't be able to miss while driving on the highway, with it's big facade and high rotating sign. I've been to Babel three times already and every time I enjoy it as if its the first time I experience it.

Every detail is taken care of perfectly:

Two smiling hostesses warmly welcome you as they take you to meet the waiter who will be in charge of taking care of you for the night. As soon as you take your seat on their relaxing large chairs, a waiter serving fresh lemonade passes to offer you a refreshment while you browse their special Lebanese menu with a funky twist.

The music:

A soft and relaxing background of old lebanese tunes prepares the floor for the trio of Violin, Piano and Accordion players, who enchant you with the finest tunes all night long.

The decoration:

The restaurant cost millions to build for sure. The old oriental temple constituted of huge stones where stars on the metallic ceiling overlook the olive tree in the middle of the courtyard. An amazingly beautiful grand set up

The plus:

- Waiters are very welcoming and gentle, especially Mohammed who took care of us that night. - The manger is very attentive. - Oil, basil and olives are served with a homemade special bread to start.

Minor things I would change:

- They should never accept to pass the annoying Happy Birthday song in this restaurant. - Change what I call "The Very Heavy Equipment" - which includes plates, forks and knives which are are unpleasant and hard to eat with.

We ordered:

(All this for only $45 per person) Habra Nayeh, Vegetable dish, tabbouleh, fattouch, cheese and thyme, mafroukit tajen, majroucheh, mahrouseh, hommos stambouly, hendbeh, enabieh, ras asfour thym, mwarradeh, makanek, mixed puff pastry, french fries, chicken liver, balila, mouwachaha, ashata ice cream. Every single dish is unique and never tasted before...

The desserts:

Babel's desserts need a special review on its own. A simple Wow! A passionate mix of endless tastes and flavors served with fruits presented on banana leaves. How appetizing is that!

Their famous Lebanese desserts prepared the Babel way, are simple delicacies to be enjoyed. This is  enough to make you visit back weekly.
