The World of Designers Hotels: Looking Forward to Missoni New Hotel in Turkey

Hotel Missoni Belek, Antaly, set to open in 2013. Although this was announced a while back, but since the date is approaching I thought it would be nice to remind you. It might the next place I stay at while in Turkey

The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest growing hotel companies worldwide, announces Hotel Missoni Belek, Antalya. Located on the Turkish Riviera, the 138 key-property will welcome its first guests in 2013. Rezidor's luxury lifestyle brand Hotel Missoni debuted in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2009 in partnership with the iconic fashion and interiors house.

Additional properties include Kuwait , Oman and Brazil. Each property is personally designed by Creative Director Rosita Missoni, original co-founder of the Missoni label. "We develop Hotel Missoni in carefully selected city centers and upcoming resort destinations. Antalya is a perfect location for this exciting, design-conscious and authentic brand," commented Kurt Ritter, President and CEO of Rezidor. "In my many years of working with Rezidor, I have been proud of the fact that the collaboration has always been a great success.

I am looking forward to having Hotel Missoni as the crowning icon of our new project in Belek," added Haluk Kaya, CEO of Bekay Property Partners and owner of the property. Hotel Missoni Belek, Antalya will be a golf and wellness resort located 3 miles east of the city of Belek on a hilltop overlooking olive groves, fruit orchards and the sea. The resort will be part of a mixed-use development with residential villas, a country club, sports club and boutique retail shops. The resort will be adjacent to an 18-hole golf course designed by Swedish golf champion Annika Sörenstam.

The hotel will offer 110 guestrooms and 28 villas ranging from 200 to 9,500 square feet. All will feature Missoni's trademark design and color scheme. The resort will offer two restaurants, including the signature Cucina Missoni, as well as a ballroom and meeting space. For relaxation after a round of golf guests can enjoy the 11,000-square-foot spa and leisure area, offering two swimming pools, a spa, Turkish baths, a fitness centre, and a kids' club. Antalya is Turkey's most visited tourist area, surpassing even Istanbul! It offers miles of sandy beaches, year-round sunshine and a wealth of tourist and historical attractions. It is also an established golfing destination with over a dozen courses.

Rezidor has four hotels in operation and two under development in Turkey. This is the first Hotel Missoni development in the country.
