VATICAN TO REINTRODUCE LEBANON TO LIST OF PILGRIMAGE DESTINATIONS

More tourists, more visitors... a better economy!

The Lebanese Charge d'Affaires in the Vatican City, Ambassador Khalil Karam, relayed to Lebanese officials the Vatican’s decision to place Lebanon back on the list of pilgrimage destinations issued annually by the Holy See.

Lebanon will be reintroduced in 2019, after a 12-year absence from the said list which is used as a reference by thousands of pilgrims from around the world.

During his official visit to the Holy See, President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun had raised this issue with the officials of the Holy See and the Vatican's Department of Pilgrims.

Ambassador Karam had made an audio-visual presentation on the potential religious pilgrimage locations in Lebanon, and all the hotels and facilities offered to participants in religious pilgrimage trips.
