Buvette is one of my favorite breakfast places; it’s where I got the highest number of views on google maps, it’s where food is memorable, it’s where I used my Leica camera for the first time... Buvette is New York’s preferred breakfast place and mine as well. I was back for the waffle, for the scone and for the great vibes that put one in a good mood for a long day ahead.
I love it how three bartenders behind the bar prepare innovative drinks shouting for the finished orders one after the other. I enjoy seeing four waiters moving around keeping everybody happy. I’m a fan of the music too.
Feel the place: bricks cover the walls. Old wood for the floor. Old style designs for the ceiling. Big sized chandeliers. Wine bottles here and there. Dimmed lights. Mirrors. Glassware and cups. Be seated and enjoy a magical ambiance that transports. At the bar, you can enjoy a tower of pastries, a display of eggs and a tray of juices; everything feels fresh!
On the menu: avocado on toast. Jambon cru with eggs. Scones and croissants. Belgian Waffle. Croque Madame. Smoked salmon with eggs. Goat cheese and eggs. Have a black coffee; it stands out from average coffees.
When salt is added with love to carefully mixed avocado laying in a thick, full-bodied slice of bread. When two poached eggs are set on top like a piece of jewelry and decorated with thinly sliced radish. When every bite makes you want to scream; this is the avocado on toast at Buvette, a masterpiece redefining the meaning of simplicity.
Because eggs are not created equal and not every person understand what real scrambled eggs are all about; come to Buvette and try them with ham. A toasted slice of bread topped with a mountain of moist scrambled eggs mixed with salt and pepper. As simple as this, yet extremely tasty and magical. When it’s love, food tastes differently. It’s the salt; it’s the balance, it’s the professionalism poured into every plate.
Buvette is the place to be, Buvette is where breakfast makes you smile!
More excitement on the way; waffles and the famous scone followed. While waiting, I was happy seeing other customers taking photos of their food. The table next to us took a complete photo shoot of their salmon and eggs.
A scone served with a spoon filled with butter and dipped in a jam. Biscuity, the warm scone crumbles under the teeth while the butter slides on your palate-caressing it in style. The jam gives it a gentle kick of sweetness.
Simple looking, square-shaped waffle decorated with red fruits on top of pastry cream. What an amazing balance of sour and sweet with that tender waffle bed. It’s a classy and gourmet version of the waffle you know.
Bravo for everything, bravo for existing. Great food, great mood! Thank you for making our mornings better.
