Breakfast at Byblos sur Mer

Spending the weekend in Jbeil, I chose to stay at Byblos Sur Mer. After trying their breakfast and experiencing professionalism in this hotel of international standards, I came back to check out the rooms and service.

Byblos Sur Mer is one of Byblos' most famous and most professional hotels. Located at the port's entrance and offering a breathtaking view on the Mediterranean, this hotel embraces you with warmth as you step into the lobby. Design, but with touches of authenticity, warm lights and reflective marble, a small and cozy lobby set next to the bar.

I walked to the end where the reception is and was given the keys to my room located up on the third floor. Valet parking and a bell boy, it's five star standard. We had a suite with a balcony facing the port.

The suite is one large room with a welcome area and its two burgundy sofas set next to a king size bed. It's beautifully lit from the false ceiling and decorated with salmon orange-colored curtains. On the floor held one big oriental carpet and a large painting to add an artistic touch. A large crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling above.

Facing the bed is a flat screen, a mini bar and a fridge. The room also offers a wooden desk. Well lit and spacious, it puts a smile on your face as you walk in.

The bathroom had a touch of class. A bathtub as well as a shower, a sink and toilet with a load of amenities from Azzaro. A razor, a tooth brush, a vanity kit, a shower cap and shampoo. A scale is found in the bathroom. What's impressive is that room has everything you dream of, something few five star hotels can offer.

As we arrived a plate of fruits followed and another of oriental sweets. The mini bar held a bottle of wine, coffee and tea, nuts and chips, chewing gum and candies, as well as a selection of drinks and refreshments. 143 channels are there to entertain you.

A fluffy bed, four large pillows, I was off to bed after a long day at Souk el Akel, Jbeil's Christmas Edition, an event that attracted more than 30,000 visitors.

After a long night of sleep on those fluffy pillows, I couldn't wake up before 10am and made it just on time for breakfast. I've been here, done that and still enjoy it like the first time. Fayrouz singing in the background, lights come from all the windows with a view on the port. A relaxing couch, a seat or a sofa, choose what makes you happy.

The restaurant takes you to the French "campagne" with white rugged tables and blue chairs, an old style pavement, a wooden ceiling and some sofas which add touches of color and style. The place is relaxing, oozing some fine, positive vibes. A bar, an oven and a staff that keeps a smile on its face.

Fresh crunchy bread, tasty Labneh, tender cheese, good jam, fruits and the Lebanese corner with foul and vegetables. After finishing my nibbles of Labneh and black olives, it was serious food time! Waffles and omelets.

A fluffy tender waffle topped with bananas, strawberries and chocolate sauce. With that surely don't miss the omelet. A colorful omelet with diced vegetables and filled with molten cheese. Moist and juicy, oil-free and fresh, filled with taste and enjoyment. I loved it before and now again, the chef knows what he's doing. Handling the oven is a lady and I'm not sure if she prepares everything and if she does, it's done amazingly well.
