Known to serve a traditional check cuisine and part of several top lists on the net, Cafe Savoy was a must to try. Old and luxurious, the restaurant serves breakfast and lunch or only cafe and cakes all day long. Come here for a small selection of traditional plates of which the fruit dumplings, schnitzel, duck leg and pork.
When you walk in, look up: take a photo of the ceiling then climb up to the mezzanine where lunch is served. Half an hour after, plates landed in the table.
Food is complicated! You receive a plate of chewy white dumplings with a side of white cheese, butter, sugar, and crumbles. Super chewy dumplings, white cheese that doesn’t add value much, a filling of sweet fruits and if you add sugar, the plate becomes crunchy. I’m not sure what this plate is all about: don’t order it.
The Schnitzel is good with a side of cranberries. Battered and fried chicken, crunchy and enjoyable. The beetroot salad with slices of goat cheese: simple, bizarre and not what I expected.
Overrated! I’m not sure why this place is on Top10 lists.
