One of Europe’s most famous delicatessen brands welcomes you for breakfast, lunch, or dinner up on the first floor. After touring around on the ground floor for German specialties and unique food discoveries, stay for lunch. I’ve been here in 2015 and still remember how great the food at this bistro was... so why not visit again. Visiting Munich for the first time with my kids, Dallmayr was my choice for the second lunch in this marvelous city.
I’m not sure that Dallmayr is a place for kids since the youngest customer I met today is at least sixty years of age: visited by older people, Dallmayr is where the connoisseurs go.
Three kinds of soups, six kinds of starters, two pasta choices, five mains, and a seasonal salad. My kids ordered the chicken; I had the trout, my wife the ravioli as well as the salmon mix and fried scallops.
I believe Dallmayr is one of Munich' musts where you’ll find a handful of local specialties. Salmon, sausages, chocolates, beers, wines, and beyond. The vibes at the gourmet shop and the mood at the restaurant upstairs are pleasant to experience. For more info, you can check the previous review.
With a view on Marienhof, enjoying a local draft beer, served by a professional and classy waitress, I wished time would stop.
Premium salmon quality, fatty, and tender at the same time. Crunchy and bun-oily chicken breast, thinly sliced potato and cucumber salad, pan-fried scallops and a green salad. The first round made us happy. I loved the salmon presentation and taste, enjoyed eating chicken with my kids, and finished my scallops salad entirely.
Fish salmon trout cooked to perfection, soft and juicy with wasabi foam, mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach, and oven potatoes. It’s so simple and classy; the plate is kind of addictive: comfort food at its best, a great blend of fine ingredients prepared together in style.
Red wine sauce toasted sirloin steak of veal, with leek purée, mixed beetroot, and sugar snaps. I loved the green purée, enjoyed the tender meat, and loved the wine sauce, which gives it a pleasant sweet taste.
Voila! It’s where you’re having at least one meat whenever you are visiting Munich. Excellent service and excellent food with guaranteed satisfaction.
