Recommended by the concierge at The Sofitel, The Hutong Club is one of Munich finest Chinese restaurants. The cuisine is complex and not for the faint of heart. Decorated to perfection, the restaurant takes you on a trip to China and back. Red Dragons, golden fish, dimmed ambiance and lights coming down from the ceiling for a shiny dinner. We were seated outside.
Follow the red neon... The Hutong Club can be spotted on Franz-Joseph Strabe, sit inside or enjoy the pleasant weather on the sidewalk. The menu has it all! Duck, noodles, beef, rice, and beyond. The restaurant is trendy while offering an authentic Chinese experience.
Good food but a bit too complicated! You have to be a fan of spring onions, coriander, and spicy things. A mix of a hundred flavors or so, several textures, sweet, sour... and interesting experiences.
Juicy bao buns, crunchy shrimp toast, and spring rolls, balanced fried rice... a unique cuisine I honestly won’t crave daily but would enjoy once every five years. Big chunks of meat with their noodles, very sweet shrimp with caramelized crunchy nuts... anyway, I believe that my taste buds were overwhelmed.
Conclusion: you don’t know what you’re eating I side these plates loaded with vegetables and a little bit of meat.
Too much for me! I was happy to try something new... I won’t be coming here anytime soon.
