Fig & Olive is a French restaurant inspired by the cuisine of the French Riviera. With ingredients carefully selected for genuine flavor, the restaurant promises a trip to the South of France and back.

It's a long corridor, a rectangular shaped restaurant, with dimmed lights under a ceiling painted in light orange while the walls are painted in white. There's a bar occupying half the restaurant before opening out onto the main dining area facing the open kitchen. It boasts relaxed seating where you will feel like you're enjoying a glass of wine on a terrace over the Mediterranean. It feels like a French and Italian place at the same time...

The menu is simple: starters, signature crostini, famous crudo, pasta and main plates. The service however was not too professional. The waiters were not giving enough time and attention to each table.

I loved the table setup: two forks and two knives and a table napkin. Dinner started when a rectangular plate of bread and olive oil landed on our table. The olive oil was bitter: I didn't understand why this should be so.

The food is good... I started with a mozzarella burrata, creamy inside out with a molten heart and real milky flavor, served in a bowl with snow pea, hazelnut, arugula and micro basil on a blood orange dressing. Crunchy hazelnuts, an enjoyable touch of pepper, fresh greens and a muted light sweetness. Loved this salad.

The Crostinis: three toasted bread slices topped with several ingredients. One with figs, ricotta, olives and walnuts, another with burrata, pesto and balsamic and a third with Gorgonzola cheese, almonds and red pepper marmelade. Every ingredient is carefully chosen to add a precise flavor, mixed together to create a well balanced and beautifully textured crostini.

A huge plate of small penne bathing in olive oil, mixed with fresh mushroom, Parmesan cheese and truffle oil. No cream, not heavy, cooked al dente, strong in flavor and addictive!

Fig and olive salad. It's a yummy salad, colorful and loaded with manchego, Gorgonzola, figs, apples cut into fingers, cherry tomatoes, walnuts and olives. Delicious dressing, fresh ingredients in a balanced salad.

Very good food is served here...but the service is too brusque and the place is too noisy!
