Kanada-Ya: When Craving Ramen in London
Non-smokers friendly

I’m a big fan of Ramen noodles and it seems Kanada-Ya is one of London’s best. Don’t expect something fancy but a neighborhood eatery where people eat together sharing tables. At Kanada-Ya people sit side by side and not facing each other so another couple can join. With an open kitchen, enjoy your Ramen being prepared.

(Ramen is a Japanese dish with a translation of "pulled noodles". It consists of Chinese wheat noodles served in a meat or fish-based broth, often flavored with soy sauce or miso, and uses toppings such as sliced pork, nori, menma, and scallions.)

The specialties are the truffle, the wood ear fungus, chashu pork collar, bamboo shoots, corn fed chicken and others.

People were coming in, eating alone or accompanied; they enjoyed the movement and left with a smile. Under a ceiling covered with a mirror, a square space with no decor and cheap low-quality wood white tables, I sat and waited to be served.

Delicious noodles! Yum yum, experience loaded with flavors. Tender noodles, slices of pork, pickled eggs and a big bowl of sauce. Noodles become tastier five minutes after they are served to continue their cooking process. I liked the mix of flavors, the enjoyable spiciness that takes over your lips and the tender meat.

Fried chicken on another hand is tasteless: don’t order them. They feel like KFC food.

Fast-casual, Japanese street food in London; I’m happy to have tried Kannada-Ya.
